Theater LaB Houston offers an exciting arts education program designed to delight and
educate elementary age audiences to a local Houston and Harris County school children.
A PUPPET PIZZAZZ EXTRAVAGANZA
Here’s a recent peak of this outstanding 50 minute variety puppet show presented to a local elementary school -
this performance is a great introduction to the theatrical world of puppetry.
Puppeteer Greg Ruhe plays a unique role in arts/education programming. He seamlessly interweaves
entertaining puppet characters of varying sizes, dimensions and styles, while sharing behind- the- scene
secrets used to create and manipulate them.
His presence is highly theatrical and indeed the whole demonstration/performance is made for the stage.
Hand puppets, rod puppets, giant full body puppets, puppets made from found objects and
recycled materials, and shadow puppets are included.
Exploring the ancient art of puppetry, self esteem, ecology, recycling, reading
and creative thinking are encouraged.
