The Company

RON JONES (Director) is celebrating 43 years in theatre as an actor, director, and producer.  He has acted in over 75 productions and directed over 100. He directed the first full length play at TLH – Catholic Scholl Girls and many more. At The Ensemble, he performed in The Taming of the Screw and I Wish You Love and directed Jo Anne!, Just A Little Mark and Constant Star. Ron has directed at Main Street Theater -  The Women, Intimate Apparel, The Light in the Piazza and Marisol; Stages – Casserole Janis!; Mildred’s Umbrella - Compleat Female Stage Beauty, Kimberly Akimbro as well as at New Heights Theatre, and The Edinburgh Theatre Festival. Theatre career highlights include meeting playwright, Tennessee Williams, after directing his A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur, working with Tony award winning playwright, Mark Medoff on directing his play, The Hands of Its Enemy, working with Ensemble Theatre founder, George Hawkins, and working with Gerald LaBita to open TLH. He recently retired after teaching high school theatre for 18 years and college theatre for 18 years. He is Artistic Director of Celebration Theatre which produces plays that address diversity with dignity and sensitivity.  He has been a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association for 25 years.  Ron dedicates this performance to the memory of his dearest friend, Suzy Raymond.


MARY HOOPER is familiar face to Houston audiences, having  appeared in various local venues for over 30 years. Known to TLH patrons from her roles in The Little Dog Laughed, True Love Lies, A Class Act, Box Office of the Damned, Johnny Guitar, the Musical, Cooking With Elvis and The Book of Liz. Previous to making Theater LaB Houston her home, Mary was a company member at Stages Repertory Theatre, where she enjoyed playing the lead roles in Man of La Mancha, Hair, Little Shop of Horrors, Leader of the Pack, and Carnal Knowledge, to name a few. Longtime theater fans may remember her at Equinox Theater in Neon Woman and The Rocky Horror Show. Denizens of Montrose may recall her in Women Behind Bars, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom. She is thrilled to be back again at TLH, especially with such a great group of talented and beautiful actresses as the cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore.

EILEEN J. MORRIS is excited to make her TLH debut. Her Houston acting credits include many of her most favorite productions. At The Ensemble Theatre she has performed in Two Trains Running, The Piano Lesson, A Raisin in the Sun, The River Niger, Steal Away and God’s Trombones to name a few; her Alley Theatre credits include A Christmas Carol (for three years), Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and the understudy for several productions; and her Stages credits include The Colored Museum and The Box Church. For seven years Pittsburgh was her home and while there she performed in Rain and Rivers, Blue, Ashes to Africa, and the August in February series to name a few. She has acted in several mainstream films, national commercials and industrials. She is the artistic director of The Ensemble Theatre and has directed over 75 productions in Houston and Pittsburgh. She holds the distinction of being the only female in the world to direct eight of the August Wilson Ten Play Circle.  She is thrilled to be working with these awesome women, director Ron Jones and artistic director, Jerry LaBita.  This is dedicated to my mother, Imelda - whose life journey is truly layered with as the play’s title indicates- Love, Loss and What I Wore.

MARCY BANNOR - was cast as Gretel in the operetta Hansel & Gretel in sixth grade at Jamison Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois and realized then and there that theater was the future for her.  She went on to graduate from Goodman School of Drama with a BFA in Acting and has spent her entire life acting, directing, and teaching theater to young people.  After performing in Chicago in the late 1960’s, she moved to Houston and in April 1993, she appeared in the opening production for TLH - Catholic School Girls, Marcy has also graced the stages of Main Street Theater, Texas Repertory Theater, Stages, TUTS, and A.D. Players. She is a Certified Theater Arts Teacher in the State of Texas and has served as the theater arts and reading instructor at Edgewood Elementary in Spring Branch ISD. Marcy has two children and three grand-children and, although she has loved her involvement in theater over the years, she has found that being a mother and grandmother are the greatest and most fun roles of her life!

ROZANNE DAMONE CURTIS is thrilled to be back at TLH! She performed in the first production of Catholic School Girls in April 1993. At TUTS, she has acted in The Wizard of Oz; Brigadoon, Legally Blonde; SCROOGE. Some of her favorite roles include Adelaide, Guys n Dolls; Hedy in How to Succeed..; Mags in Painting Churches; Mavis in Steppin Out; Edith in The Women. And, of course, her one woman show, The Real One is Booked. Rozie has acted in numerous films and voiced many anime projects for ADV Films! She has directed productions all over the U.S. and created original shows for individuals with disabilities through The River and Dionysus. For TUTS she has directed School House Rock Live Jr., Dual Language Aladdin Jr., My Son Pinocchio Jr., When You Wish, Camp Rock, The Little Mermaid Jr., RENT School Edition, High School Musical and most recently Big.  She is an award winning film director/writer recognized both nationally and internationally through her work with Cross Wind Productions. Rozie is so excited to be working with these talented women and once again being directed by the incomparable, Ron Jones! _lml to Trey and “sometimes yeah” to  Kurt!

LYDIA MEADOWS is excited to return to the TLH stage after last appearing in Gone Missing (Various characters), Matt & Ben (Ben Affleck), A Class Act (Mona), and Debbie Does Dallas (Donna). Most recently, Lydia was seen in Bayou City Concert Musicals The New Girl in Town (Flo), Pajama Game (Mae), and Finnian’s Rainbow (Ensemble). Area credits include Cabaret (Sally Bowles) and Chicago (Matron Mama Morton) at COM Theatre; Comic Potential, Oh Boy!, What the Butler Saw (Geraldine Barclay), and Seussical (Mayzie la Bird) at Main Street Theater. ARIANNA DAY (Production Manager) is thrilled to work with the TLH family once again! A graduate of the University of St. Thomas, she received a Bachelor’s of Art in Drama and Communication. She has served as Stage Manager for an array of productions across Houston. Her favorites include Hairspray (The Country Playhouse), The Temperamentals (Celebration Theatre), Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical and Cock (TLH); The Nerd (The Texas Repertory Theatre) and Ruined  (Obsidian Art Space).

SCOTT LUPTON (Projections & Sound Design) this production marks Scott’s 5th Year and 10th production with TLH. Scott can currently be seen at Main Street Theatre in Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse and previously at MST – A Year With Frog and Toad, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Alice in Wonderland; Here at TLH: See Rock City, Reefer Madness; at Bayou City Theatrics: The Wild Party, Aida, RENT: Live in Concert; The Rocky Horror Show; at County Playhouse: Hairspray, Bare; at Stages: Panto Pinocchio; Education: The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in LA.

ARLICE YOUNG (Stage Manager) AnyCole, a Memphis native, makes her debut with Theater LaB Houston here at Obsidian Art Space. She currently serves as one of the resident Stage Managers at The Ensemble Theatre and a Theatre Instructor with HISD. She dedicates this production to God & her family. 

RAUL RIVERA (Light Design) has designed for TLH, Main Street Theater, Alley Theater, TUTS, Ensemble Theater, Houston Community College, HGO and
many other Houston theater companies.
